Experience an original dance composition by Spanish choreographer Jacob Gómez Ruiz, to be performed in the Hamon Galleries. Gómez will create a new piece inspired by artwork in the museum’s collection and will develop the work in collaboration with first- year Dance Division students and SMU’s Artist in Residence in Jazz, Alvon Reed.

Jacob Gómez Ruiz trained at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Valencia and graduated from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. He began dancing professionally in 2014 with IT Dansa in Barcelona and performed from 2015 to 2018 in theaters in Germany (Theater Pforzheim in 2015 and Theater Bielefeld from 2016 to 2018).

and the Division of Dance at the Meadows School of the Arts, SMU.
