Calling all little ones and their grown-ups! This program welcomes children ages 2–5 and their adults into the museum before it opens to explore art together. This program focuses on the making and the doing and not the final product. We will enjoy songs and story time led by Highland Park Library, look at a work of art, experience a new art making process, and most importantly, have fun!
This session is inspired by animals in art. What’s your favorite animal? Take a look at the artful animals of the Meadows Museum, then create your own animal keychain using model magic clay and animal-shaped cookie cutters.
Free with regular museum admission. Members, please note that you must login to receive your complimentary admission. SMU faculty and staff that are members, please login and select a member ticket.
Free museum admission for youth 18 and under is made possible by a grant from Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
This is not a drop-off program; children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18. Both grownups and children need to register. Recommended for ages 2–5, but all children are welcome. This program is not a drop-in program. Each session begins at 9 am and ends at 10 am. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.
