Wednesday September 30

Other dates...

10:00 AM  –  12:30 PM

In this exclusive program for homeschool families, participants will explore works from the Meadows Museum collection and learn how artists create vibrant colors from natural materials. Students will investigate the science and history of pigments and conduct experiments to discover how simple scientific processes can be used to transform color. Participants will also learn how to create their own red dye from dried cochineal bugs, which they’ll use in a creative art-making activity inspired by what they’ve learned.

This workshop is designed for curious minds ages 10 and up, but all ages welcome with adult support. This is not a drop-off program; children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18.
