This informal program is designed for individuals with early-stage dementia and their care partners or family members. Participants explore the galleries through interactive discussions; experiment with different materials to create individual and group projects; and discover works of art through music, dance, literature, and storytelling. Light refreshments will be served.

Enjoy afternoons of informal drawing instruction with artist Ian O’Brien. Each session provides an opportunity to explore a variety of techniques and improve drawing skills. Drawing materials will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own sketchpads and pencils. The program takes place in the museum’s galleries at the featured work of art.
This program is designed for adults and youth ages 12 and older and is open to all abilities and experience levels. Minors must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18, and both grown-ups and children need to register.

Calling all little ones and their grown-ups! This program welcomes children ages 2–5 and their adults into the museum before it opens to explore art together, focusing on the making and the doing rather than the final product. We will enjoy songs and story time led by Highland Park Library, look at a work of art, experience a new art-making process, and, most importantly, have fun! Best of all, your little ones can get messy at the museum instead of at home.
